BBC acquires Thomas Vinterberg's "Families Like Ours" series

Oscar-nominated director Thomas Vinterberg makes his TV debut with "Families Like Ours", an apocalyptic drama produced by Studiocanal. The series, which premiered in Venice and is broadcast on Scandinavian channels as well as Canal+, has been acquired by the BBC as part of its drive to acquire Scandinavian content. Starring Amaryllis August and Nikolaj Lie Kaas, the series was shot in five countries. Vinterberg, known for "Drunk" (Another Round) and "The Hunt" (The Hunt), is directing a production backed by several European studios.
