The Brotherhood of Tears

Jean-Baptiste Andrea - 2013

Feature-length fiction

synopsis

In Paris, Gabriel, in his thirties, is raising his daughter Juliette alone. A former cop who retired from the business following a personal tragedy, the man is struggling to make ends meet. One day, an old acquaintance offers him a well-paid job. If he accepts the deal, Gabriel must deliver suitcases around the world for anonymous clients. The terms of the contract are clear: he must ask no questions about the contents of the suitcases, and never attempt to open them. Intrigued and convinced that this job would help him out of his financial impasse, Gabriel embarks on the adventure. From Istanbul to Bruges via China, he hops from private plane to private plane with his mysterious cargo. It didn't take long for the money to start pouring in. Gabriel may be in a hurry, but he's rich. His daughter complains about his now-absent father, but he can't stop a machine that's suffocating him more and more.
