In 1995, Marie-Hélène Massin decided to film her neighborhood, the Chaussée de Haecht in Brussels, where she had been living for almost 10 years. Today, the majority of the inhabitants are of Turkish origin, while the Belgians have gradually left the area. With curiosity, tenderness and a touch of irony, she explores the complex issue of otherness in this new setting. In a context marked by rising nationalism and individual isolation, Rue de l'abondance offers a refreshing look at diversity, encounters and identities.
