Cécile Telerman - 2005

Feature-length fiction

synopsis

Juliette, Florence and Marie are childhood friends. Marie is a doctor in a public hospital. She has been married for 8 years to Pierre, a sincere, loving and funny painter, whose major failing is that he doesn't bring home a penny. Marie strives to be the perfect wife, but one day she begins to tire of taking on everything. Florence is married to Julien, a strong-willed, brittle company director. A timid, self-effacing copywriter in an advertising agency, she is given responsibility for a budget by her temperamental boss. Juliette is a lawyer. She has as little success getting paid by her clients as she has finding a man who loves her. All three steal a few moments to get together and punctuate their daily lives with uninhibited conversation. At 35, ideals have faded and reality takes over...
